Dear member of Labrecque family in North America,
Did you know that:
1) Ancestors: two brothers, Pierre and Jean Labrecque, arrived in Nouvelle-France (now Quebec province) from Dieppe (France) around 1657; that they bought property
on Ile d’Orléans, got married and have had numerous descendants;
2) The Association des Labrecque, based in Quebec province, has been founded in 1994, counts 100 members; among them a little more than 10% are living in USA;
3) Among other goals, the association is aiming to:
a. Bring together in the Association all descendants of the Labrecque and all persons interested in the family;
b. Encourage research, dissemination of genealogical knowledge, historical facts or topics of interest about the Labrecque families;
c. Promote meetings, travel, social, cultural and leisure activities for members to exchange and get to know each other better;
4) The Association des Labrecque edits a Bulletin, twice a year, where the articles are printed both in French and in English. Following these hyperlinks, you will be

The 2024 meeting will take place on September 7th, 2024, in Desbiens, in Lac-St-Jean.
On the program: general assembly, conference by Huguette Labrecque: “The Métabetchouane Trading Post”, presentation of the title of emeritus member two long-time volunteers and guided tours at the Métabetchouane History and Archeology Center and the Mashteuitatsh Museum.
